Sanral to start R4bn upgrade to N3 in Durban in October

Many motorists will be
making their way to garages before midnight to try to soften the blow of this
month's fuel price shocks.
It will start with major construction upgrades along the route in October.
Motorists will see more workers on that stretch for the next four years.
More lanes are going to be added to the dual carriageway.
Project Manager Robbi Ronnie there are also plans to widen the Westville and Paradise Valley viaducts.
During the R4.7 billion job, traffic moving in and out of areas, including Pinetown, Westville, Hillcrest, Kloof and Marianhillwill be affected.

Motorists travelling to the Durban Port and King Shaka International will also need to be aware of possible disruptions.
"The project includes provision of additional one to two lanes but in some sections, as you approach the Westville interchange at Pavilion there will be additional lanes as part of the overall upgrade.
"There will also be a number of roads linked to the N3 for example, Eden Road, Paradise Valley interchange itself and the intersections of the M13 as you leave the N3 to join the portions of the M13 at the Westville interchange."
