Specialist team to handle NSFAS issues: Nzimande
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Higher Education Minister, Blade Nzimande says an inter-ministerial task team will soon be set up to further investigate and deal with the problems at NSFAS.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is currently under administration.
Nzimande says the probe is to allow for a smooth transition from a loan to a full-blown bursary - following the announcement of free higher education for qualifying students
"The focus is to ensure the immediate short-term stability of NSFAS and put in place effective policies and systems to ensure that funding gets to the qualifying student on time and that they're effectively supported to succeed in their studies.
"A full assessment and investigation into the root causes of the systems, process and capacity problems at NSFAS will be undertaken by a specialist ministerial team that I will appoint over the next few months," Nzimande said.
