Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
A south coast woman is due in court for allegedly tossing a foetus into a pit latrine in Danganya, near Umkomaas.
Police from the Durban Search and Rescue Unit recovered the foetus yesterday after being called to the scene.
"The woman - who was six months pregnant - allegedly aborted the baby in the area and she threw the foetus in the toilet. The police were called and the baby was taken out of the toilet. A case of concealment of birth was opened at Umkomaas police station for further investigation," Zwane said.
