A senior SAPS official says there’s growing dissatisfaction with policing on the KZN south coast.
Provincial Deputy Commissioner, Thulani Gonya says community members’ confidence in our men and women in blue, has dropped.
Fear gripped the coastal region after at least 14 women were reported missing.
The discovery of five bodies were found buried in a sugar cane field in Mthwalume in the last four months, triggering public outrage.
Gonya and Police Minister Bheki Cele visited the area yesterday.

Gonya says, among other things they’re dealing with resource challenges which’ve affect their ability to fully carry out their duties.
"We are working towards the call that was made by the local community to say they are not content with the service we are getting with Hibberdenen SAPS," he said.
"Pretty soon there will be an improvement. With regard to resources, regarding personnel and vehicles, those will be addressed to improve our services in the community."
