South Africa’s Covid-19 deaths surpass 30 000

South Africa’s Covid-19-related death toll has surpassed the 30 000 mark.
Four hundred and thirty-four more people have died after contracting coronavirus.
In the last 24 hours, KwaZulu-Natal has lost 71 lives, the Eastern Cape 133 and the Western Cape 157.

Twelve thousand six hundred and one new infections have been confirmed, pushing our positivity rate up to 33-point-7-percent.
Over 1, 100 000 cases have been confirmed to date.
At almost 67 000, KZN’s the province with the highest number of active cases, followed by the Western Cape at over 44 000 and Gauteng at 31 000. More than 911 000 people have recovered from the virus.
