South Africa's COVID-19 death toll increases to 542

The death toll in South Africa from COVID-19-related illnesses has increased by 43 to 542.

There were also another 649 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, with the national toll on 24 264 confirmed cases.
The Department of Health says 12 741 patients have recovered from the virus.
More than 605 000 tests have been conducted to date, with 65% of the country’s cases are in the Western Cape. The number’s climbed to over 15 800
KwaZulu-Natal has 1 927 confirmed cases, 49 deaths and 1 180 recoveries.
