South Africans warned of hefty hike in fuel prices
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Fuel prices are about to hit the accelerator again, according to mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund

The AA says it has projected a jump of over a rand for both petrol and diesel.
If the predictions are true, the price hikes will deal another blow to South African motorists.
According to the AA, petrol is set to hit the R24 a litre mark for both grades.
Current data shows that 95 octane could climb by R1.35 a litre.

Ninety-three octane is expected to jump by R1.31 per litre.
The report says for diesel users, a litre could increase by between R1.43 and R1.59.
The association says international product prices were some of the main reasons for the steep adjustments, which will be confirmed by the Department of Minerals and Energy next month.
