That's the view of ANC chief whip in Parliament, Jackson Mthembu:

Mthembu and ANC treasurer general, Paul Mashatile addressed the media in Cape Town this afternoon.

Earlier, Mashatile informed the ANC's Parliamentary Caucus of the National Executive Committee's decision to recall President Jacob Zuma as Head of State.

The ruling party announced yesterday that it had decided to recall Zuma, saying the move was to allow Cyril Ramaphosa to become South African President, keeping inline to the ANC's own constitution.

Ramaphosa was elected ANC president in December last year.

Mashatile says the process of removing Zuma from office is in progress, saying the ball is now firmly in his court:

A Motion of No Confidence in the president will go ahead tomorrow if Zuma does not resign as head of State today.

National Assembly Speaker, Baleka Mbete has written to EFF leader, Julius Malema informing him of the decision to reschedule the party's Motion of No Confidence in Zuma for 2pm tomorrow afternoon.
