South Africa tops 18 000 COVID-19 cases

A two-day-old baby who tested positive for COVID-19, has succumbed to the virus, becoming South Africa's first neonatal victim.
Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize says the infant was born prematurely and had lung problems which required ventilation.
He's sent his condolences to the baby's mother who also has the virus.
Another 27 people have died from COVID-19 related illnesses bringing the country's death toll to 339.

Mkhize says the country's identified 18 003 positive cases, it's an increase of 803 in 24 hours.
KwaZulu Natal's gone up to 1 650 with 46 deaths and 842 recoveries.
Nationally, almost 9 000 people have recovered after being diagnosed with the virus.
