South Africa records 306 COVID-19 related deaths

The number of deaths from COVID-19 related illnesses in South Africa has gone up by 306 to 9 604.

The Health Ministry says 78 of those new fatalities were recorded in KwaZulu-Natal.

South Africa’s now confirmed over 538 000 cases, after an increase of 8 307 infections in the last 24-hour cycle.
More than 387 000 people no longer have the virus, which translates to a national recovery rate of 72%.
