Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says more focus will be put on KwaZulu-Natal as the province now has the third-highest number of COVID-19 cases.
Mkhize visited Clairwood Hospital in Durban on Thursday afternoon and did a walkabout at new field hospital with 220 beds.
He says another 200-bed facility will be completed soon.

Mkhize says bed occupancy in KZN is low but is confident hospitals will be ready to accommodate patients as we head towards the peak.
KZN currently has over 87 700 confirmed COVID-19 cases including over 1 000 deaths.
I used to work here at Clairwood hospital. It was a dreary looking hospital. I’m happy to note it has a refreshing appearance. There are 190 beds available here. #KZNVisit
