South Africa reaches Covid-19 testing milestone

South Africa has reached a COVID-19 testing milestone, with over 10 million tests conducted since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

Statistics released by Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize on Wednesday, show that a total of 10 020 025 COVID-19 tests have thus far been conducted.
This is an increase of 24 594 tests since Tuesday.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa stands at 1 553 609.

A further 756 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Wednesday, bringing the cumulative number of cases in the country to 1 553 609.
The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 278 909.
