The ANC in KZN has condemned the chaos in Parliament during last week's State of the Nation Address - saying that South African's rights to hear President Jacob Zuma were not respected.

The party's Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) briefed the media in Durban earlier - addressing SONA and the outcomes of its recent PEC Lekgotla.

The party's Super Zuma says the way opposition parties acted in the National Assembly was unwarranted.

"We condemn in the strongest terms and with the contempt it deserves the behavior of the opposition parties whose conduct undermined the decorum of our parliament. The African National Congress will neither be deterred nor provoked by this act of hooliganism which was televised during the state of the nation address," the party said in a statement.

A brawl erupted in the House - when security was asked to remove EFF MPs. The DA also walked out of proceedings before the President completed his address.

The PEC also commended President Zuma on his address.

"The President correctly and concretely captured the current state of the nation and the tasks for the ANC-led government for the next financial year," they said.
