Social media users warned over sharing 'fake' MiWay email

Social media users have been warned to be careful of how they share the story of a 'fake' MiWay email.
The insurance company is taking criminal action against a client who is suspected of being responsible for the racist e-mail.
Media law consultant Emma Sadlier told JacarandaFM's Breakfast with Martin Bester and Tumi Morake, social media users should be careful, saying everyone who jumps on the bandwagon can be sued.
The email states the company will reject 90% of black people's claims.
It also refers to black people as baboons.
The email reads: "This is a reminder of yesterday's managers meeting. The final decisions was to reject 90% of claims made by black people as from 1 August 2017.They are an easy target, it's also a great opportunity to save money and also punish these black baboons."
MiWay CEO René Otto says the e-mail was not written by one of their employees.
"Criminal charges will be laid and civil action will be implemented without a shadow of a doubt," says Otto.
