40-year-old Blose, who was the secretary of the SACP’s Inchanga branch, was shot three times near a local tavern in August.

The three men charged with her murder were denied bail in the Camperdown Magistrate's Court yesterday.

A fourth accused opted not to apply for bail.

Blose's death sparked unrest in the area - with some houses being torched.

Her 19-year-old daughter, Nomfundo says her grandmother is happy that the men will remain behind bars. However, she has a different viewpoint.

"I was hoping they'd get bail so I can show my brother our mother's killers - my brother is growing and he's developed so much since mom died and she missed all of this," she said.

ANC member Xolani Ngcobo was shot and killed hours after Blose - reportedly in retaliation for her death.
