Slain northern KZN police officer laid to rest

A
northern KZN cop who was gunned down while on duty two weeks ago will be laid
to rest on Saturday.

Constable Siphesihle Cele and his colleagues responded to reports of an armed man in a tavern in Empangeni.
The man opened fire on them, killing Cele.
The suspect was then shot and killed by police.
Police Minister Bheki Cele will deliver the Public Order Policing member's eulogy on Saturday morning.
“Police Minister General Bheki Cele will deliver the eulogy and reflect on the scourge of police killings in the country at the funeral service, where he will be joined by the SAPS family, together with the management of the SAPS, to pay their last respects to the fallen officer,” said his spokesperson, Lirandzu Themba.
