Slain Ndwedwe teen's father awaits justice
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The father of a Ndwedwe girl who was found dead in a bush near her home last year is not happy with police for what he calls a genuine lack of interest in the case.
Fourteen-year-old Lungile Cele left home the day before she was found dead during a school outing to Durban.
She was last seen leaving a nearby tuck-shop on her way home that afternoon.
Her father Nkosikhona Ngidi claims police have never taken a statement from locals who allegedly last saw his daughter alive.
''Justice hasn't been done, nothing has happened since we buried her. The Mayor came to her funeral as well as government officials.
''This is heartbreaking because I'm a layman and there's nothing I can really do about it but I won't be quiet about it because she had a bright future,'' he said.
Police say they are still investigating.
