Updated | By Sky News
The parents of a young American journalist who was murdered on live TV along with her cameraman say they will dedicate their energies to fighting gun violence in America.

Alison Parker's father Andy says he hopes his daughter's death on television will shock people into action.
''With other victims they see the aftermath but they don't see it happen on television to someone that was loved in the community and was loved all over the country, loved in the states of Virginia.
''I think that's what makes this different this time,'' he said.
He has been speaking at a gun control rally in Washington DC.
24-year-old Parker and cameraman, Adam Ward were shot dead in a terrifying attack while doing a live interview last month.
The gunman, disgruntled former reporter, turned the gun on himself a few hours later.
