The family of slain police officer, Siyabonga Mbhele, have lauded officers for their breakthrough in his murder case.

Six suspects appeared in the Hibberdene Magistrate's Court yesterday, and have been remanded in custody.
They are facing charges of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and the theft of a motor vehicle.

The suspects were arrested on Friday in Umlazi - on the eve of Mbhele's funeral.
The officer's sister, Ntombenhle Mbhele, says while the arrests will not bring him back - the family are hopeful the suspects will face the full extent of the law.
"We all wish that they should not be given bail. Because it's going to be hard knowing that the people who killed my brother are out there somewhere. We want them to be arrested, and serve their time in prison," she said.
