Skeletal remains found in Mariannhill

Durban detectives believe they have found the remains of a Mariannhill couple that has been missing for over five months.

The skeletal remains were recovered last night in Mpola near the Mhlathuzana river.
Police believe they are the remains of 41-year-old Langelihle Mazeka and his 27-year-old girlfriend, Nozipho Mnguni, who disappeared in early December.
It is understood Mazeka often picked Mnguni up from her work and walked home with her to avoid her having to walk through a dense bush alone late at night.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says, on the day of the pair's disappearance, Mazeka went to Mnguni's place of work as usual but the couple never made it back home.
"Although the family has identified their clothes, DNA analysis will be conducted to identify the bodies," she said.
