Six suspects nabbed for murder of elderly Greytown man

Six suspects linked to the murder of an elderly Greytown couple are behind bars after they were arrested during a shootout in the Midlands that killed two others.
Police from Greytown and Pietermaritzburg acted after spotting the armed gang heading towards Impendle in two cars on Tuesday.
They pursued them and there was an exchange of fire.

KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the couple was robbed and killed on their farm last week.
"When confronted, the armed men opened fire at police officers and a shootout ensued during the high-speed chase.
"Two suspects were fatally wounded, while six aged between 22 and 38 were arrested for murder, robbery and attempted murder.
"Two flat-screen televisions, a cell phone and jewellery belonging to Venter were recovered as well as a firearm, knives, a crowbar, gloves, and balaclavas."

Ngcobo says the suspects will be profiled to check if they were involved in other crimes.
