Six suspects have been killed and three others arrested after a shootout with police in Inanda.
SAPS officials say the group was wanted in connection with a spate of house robberies, murders, a business robbery, and carjacking.
The police's Jay Naicker says officers pounced on the suspects at a house in Emachobeni early on Thursday morning after they received a tip-off:
"Once the police arrived at the house, they were met with a hail of bullets. The police officers then returned fire following a shootout. Six suspects were found to have sustained fatal gunshot wounds."
