SIU investigation clears KZN Education of corruption
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Special Investigating Unit has cleared the KZN Education Department of any wrongdoing in the procurement of water tanks for rural schools in the province.
There were allegations on social media that it had paid excessive prices last year for some 41 000 tanks, whose normal cost was put at roughly R 4 000 each.
In its preliminary report, the SIU found that the department didn’t procure the tanks as was claimed.
