Sindiso Magaqa murder trial to begin on Monday

The trial of the four accused in the murder of Sindiso Magaqa is set to get underway in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Monday.

The former ANC Youth League secretary-general was shot in an ambush in Umzimkhulu five years ago.
Two fellow councillors, who were with Magaqa, were hurt while 35-year-old died in a Durban hospital a few days later.

The accused, Sbonelo Myeza, Mbulelo Mpofana, Mlungisi Ncalane and Sibusiso Ncengwa face charges including murder, attempted murder and malicious injury to property.
The trial is set to run until 12 August.
