The three men accused of the murder of former ANC Youth League general-secretary Sindiso Magaqa have been granted bail, five years after his death.

Mbulelo Mpofana, Sibonelo Myeza and Mlungisi Ncalane appeared in the Ixopo Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The trio were arrested in 2018, after Magaqa was shot and killed in uMzimkhulu in July 2017 after blowing the whistle on corruption there.
His death came under the spotlight during the Moerane Commission of inquiry into political killings in the province.

KZN National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Natasha Kara says the trio were given R5 000 bail each.
"Their bail conditions are: to surrender their passports to the Investigating Officer, to report bi-weekly to a police station in their area, they must not enter the area of uMzimkhulu for the duration that this matter is in court, they do not interfere with State witnesses.
"The matter returns to court on 18 July 2022. The State is considering an appeal of the ruling which led to the accused being released on bail."
