Sindisiwe Manqele sentenced to 12 years
Updated | By News24
Judge Solly Sithole has sentenced Sindisiwe Manqele to 12 years behind bars for the murder of her boyfriend, hip hop artist Nkululeko Flabba Habedi.
Manqele was convicted of killing Habedi last year.
She fatally stabbed him after an argument when they returned from a Sandton club in March.
In the High Court Sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court, Judge Sithole has recommended Manqele participate in the programmes offered to inmates including life skills, for self-esteem and anger management.
"In the second instance, it is recommended to the Department of correctional services and the National Commissioner of Correctional Services that you not be granted parole until you have served two thirds - that is eight years - of your sentence," he said.
