The ANC's National Executive Committee held a special meeting yesterday to consider the names put forward for each of the eight provinces it will govern.

The PECs submitted three names per province.

In KwaZulu-Natal, Zikalala - Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs MEC will take over from Willies Mchunu.

David Makhura's been nominated to head back to lead Gauteng.

But the party's not ready to tell us who the Premier candidate for the troubled North West is - saying it's still deliberating on that one.

The ANC will fill 230 seats in the National Assembly. Secretary-general Ace Magashule says the party's parliamentary list can only change if a member decides to step down.

"I'm not saying the list to Parliament cannot change - I'm saying we have registered the list. Ant to take that person out from Parliament - that person must resign," Magashule said.

Magashule says his working relationship with the president is intact.  He has dismissed claims of a fallout with Cyril Ramaphosa.

"There are no fallouts between the president and I. We work as the leadership of the ANC - a collective and we move as such. I don't want to listen to rumours."
