The man accused of kidnapping and killing the 21-year-old Lee is applying for bail.

The State alleges the 29-year-old businessman kidnapped Lee from outside a Durban North house in January before killing her.

Her body was then dumped in the Midlands. The investigating officer in the case continued with his testimony yesterday.

During cross-examination yesterday defence lawyer, Martin Krog grilled investigating officer, Rajan Govender about events of the day of the suspect's arrest and the evidence in the case.

Krog asked Govender whether private investigator, Brad Nathanson posted a picture of the accused on his Facebook page before an identity parade took place.

Govender replied that he didn't know but told the court that the suspect was positively identified at an ID parade. Krog pointed out that Nathanson did post a picture showing the face of the accused four days before the ID took place.

When asked who arrived at the suspect's house first on the day of the arrest, Govender told the court that Nathanson got there first but that police officers were 10 minutes behind him.

Krog ended his cross-examination by telling the court that Nathanson's involvement in the search and arrest of his client has compromised the entire case and that police searched his property and car without a search warrant.
