Siam Lee murder: Accused returns to court

Dozens of members of sex-trade survivor group, Kwanele are expected to stage a picket outside the Durban High Court this morning, as the man accused of kidnapping and murdering Durban North woman, Siam Lee returns to the dock.
Lee went missing from outside her place of work in January last year - her badly burnt body was found in a sugar cane field in New Hanover two days later.

During his last appearance, the businessman's case was provisionally adjourned for a pretrial conference. The State believes the man - a former client of Lee's - forced her into his vehicle at gunpoint.
Prosecutors believe the accused decided to abduct and kill Lee after she broke off contact with him. He allegedly held Lee captive and assaulted her at his Assagay home, near Hillcrest.
The businessman was arrested shortly after her body was found. He was eventually released from custody after a lengthy bail application.
