Siam Lee murder accused remains mum during cross-examination

The man accused of kidnapping and murdering Durban woman, Siam Lee has refused to answer questions in court about her or other violent crimes he's alleged to have committed.

The 29-year-old suspect is being cross-examined in his bid for bail - it's his seventh day on the stand in the Durban Magistrate's Court. 

Lee disappeared from outside a Durban North home in January and was found dead in the Midlands a few days later.

State prosecutor, Surekha Marimuthu was left frustrated and perplexed with the responses from the man accused of Lee's death. 

He refused to answer questions on charges of attempted murder, intimidation and crimen injuria laid against him by his former girlfriend.

He also refused to answer questions on whether he threatened, strangled and placed prostitution adverts about her in local newspapers. 

Marimuthu then questioned him on his kidnapping and rape charges in relation to an online escort agency. He responded with no comment. 

He laughed when he was asked whether he found Lee under 'student in training' on the same website before again replying with - no comment.
