Shocking footage shows police arrest students at Rhodes
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Rhodes University has been site of unrest as at least 10 arrests have been made today.
Classes were meant to resume today - however after Vice Chancellor Sizwe Mabizela spoke to stakeholders and addressed student demands - classes were suspended.
Mabizela said the demands were beyond the university's capacity to meet them. He then appealed to protesters to allow academic programmes to resume.
This fell on deaf ears as students continued their protest action.

A police spokesperson Captain Luvuyo Mjekula says students have been arrested as they violated an interdict obtained by the university. It's reported the irate scholars barricaded a road near the institution and threw stones at police vehicles.
