Shivambu takes responsibility for 'scuffle with journalist'
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
EFF deputy president, Floyd Shivambu has apologised for the manner in which he confronted a journalist at Parliament - who had taken photos of him.
Shivambu was caught on film this morning manhandling Netwerk24's Adrian de Kock - apparently demanding that he delete the pictures.
Two other men - whose identities are not yet clear - are also seen trying to take De Kock's camera. They are seen walking away when other journalists intervene.
De Kock says he had asked Shivambu for comment on Cape Town Mayor, Patricia De Lille's disciplinary hearing.
In a statement, Shivambu says he should have handled the matter differently and takes full responsibility for the incident.

He says the altercation was not an assault on media freedom and insists he is fully committed to media freedom and freedom of association.
Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Press Gallery says it's appalled by the incident.
It says it will be writing the Speaker of Parliament calling for disciplinary action to be taken against Shivambu.
