Pioneer Foods says it's waiting for the green light from the government to reopen its Shakaskraal Sasko bakery which stopped production because of coronavirus infections at the facility.

The company says a total of 15 workers have contracted COVID-19.
It says the first few cases were identified at the beginning of last week.
It says the affected sections of the factory were closed and deep-cleaned - while it conducted a mass screening of all their employees.
Pioneer Foods spokesperson - Deborah-Ann Sharwood says the sections were reopened under the guidance of the Health Department.

She says the entire bakery was later shut down after more cases were confirmed.
"We are working closely with the department of Health and Labour in order to show that we have a safe working environment before we reopen the factory."
Management hopes to resume production in the next 24 hours but will only do so if they can be assured the health and safety of our employees as that remains our main priority."
