Sewage leak repairs underway at Mobeni Heights Cemetery
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Engineers at eThekwini's Department of Water and Sanitation are working flat out to repair a sewage leak at the Mobeni Heights Cemetery.

The unit's head Ednick Msweli says a family apparently hit a sewer pipe while digging a grave, triggering a major leak and subsequent pollution problem.
Msweli, who visited the cemetery on Tuesday, says about three graves are affected.

"It seems that it is extensive, We might require a contractor to repair the pipe, and if that is required that will be done without delay.
"The repairs are extensive but the damage that it is causing to the graves, as I said, in a big cemetery like this, I don't know how many graves we got. We only impact about three."
He says markers should be installed in cemeteries so that grave diggers are aware of where sewer and water lines run.
