Severe thunderstorms expected in southern Berg

The South African Weather Service has released a weather warning for severe thunderstorms in parts of KwaZulu-Natal, including the southern Drakensberg, uThukela and Harry Gwala districts - which includes areas like Ixopo, Kokstad,Umzimkhulu and Giants Castle among others.

The warning has been issued until 9pm tonight.
Forecaster, Aslam Sardiwalla explains the warning in more depth below:
Ixopo will reach a maximum of 25 degrees today, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thundershowers.
Warning: 12/02/2018 13h00 TO 21h00 Severe Thunderstorms- Slow moving storms observed over southern Drakensberg and Harry Gwala moving eastwards later affecting western uMgungundlovu with possible heavy downpours and hail.

Cloudy conditions over most of the province in the morning, with a 30 to 60 percent chance of showers and thundershowers as the day progresses.
