Seven young children are receiving treatment are after they were exposed to teargas that was fired at a protest near their creche in Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 says teargas was fired during a protest at a school opposite the preschool in Copesville earlier.
"Protest action took place in the Copesville high school area and this affected the creche nearby. The paramedics treated the kids and stabilised them. They were reassured," spokesperson, Werner Vermaak said.
Vermaak says the creche called the parents and the children were later taken through to a nearby clinic for further medical care.
ER24 says a high schoolgirl pupil was also treated for an injury to her after being shot with a rubber bullet.
