Seven people, cat treated in Durban CBD fire
Updated | By Portia Cele
Seven people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire gutted three shops in the Durban CBD this morning.
Fire crews are busy dampening down hotspots - to make sure the blaze doesn't re-ignite.
"Rescue Care paramedics treated a total of seven people on scene as well as a cat. Fire Department has contained the blaze. The blaze is just about out. Traffic in the area is congested. The fire department has closed the road off and it will be opened shortly to traffic," Rescue Care's Ceron Meadows said.
Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street remains closed to traffic, while Denis Hurley Street is also partially blocked.
