Seven arrested in elderly man attack

Seven suspects have been arrested for the alleged attack and robbery of an elderly man in Inchanga.
The men aged between 18 and 34 will appear in court next Monday.
They allegedly tied up and stabbed the 67-year-old man multiple times at his Drummond home.
Police's Nqobile Gwala says the suspects stormed into the man's residence - armed with firearms and knives.
They demanded his bank pin code and ransacked his home before driving off.

Gwala says the severely injured man managed to untie himself The victim managed to untie himself and alerted police before he was taken to hospital for medical attention.
An amount of about R7000,00 was withdrawn from his account at Hammersdale and Pietermaritzburg.
After an intensive investigation police officers were led to Pietermaritzburg where the suspects were arrested and some of the stolen items were recovered.
