King MisuZulu orders end to political violence in KZN

Amazulu King MisuZulu ka Zwelithini has appealed for peace and tolerance between political parties ahead of the 2024 general elections.

"I came to raise something that concern us all which is the killing of our councillors in this province, my brothers and sisters it must come to a stop. Killing of Amakhosi needs to come to a stop immediately."

 

The Zulu monarch made the appeal during an address at the Oval Cricket Stadium in Pietermaritzburg- officially opening the KZN legislature on Tuesday.

It's ahead of Wednesday's State of the Province Address.  

 

The king, who was joined by KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube, addressed some 2000 dignitaries inside the chambers.

 

He gave a royal order that all the violence in the province must come to an end.

 

"And I know we haven't taken out too many royal orders but this one together with myself and the whole of the royal family we declare that it must be a royal order that all what we ask can it please come to a stop.  

 

"I call upon this time all the law enforcement agencies to arrest, prosecute and lock up all these criminals who are giving our beautiful province a bad name."
