Senior Nongoma Municipality official gunned down: authorities investigating
Provincial Community Safety MEC, Mxolisi Kaunda, has called for calm following yesterday's murder of a senior municipal official at the Nongoma Municipality.
The MEC's spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane says Kaunda met with police management a short while ago, to brief him about the murder of 40-year- old Internal Audit Manager, Zweli Duma.
"He's optimistic that soon the police will make a breakthrough on the
matter, but he's also appealing for calm as we know that in some municipalities
- mainly under the Zululand District Municipality - there might be some changes
in terms of political leadership," he said.
Police are currently investigating the murder.
