Dlamini-Zuma has given clarity on whether consumers can still buy items like roast chickens and pies from shops.

She's now amended government's lockdown regulations.

There is now a complete ban on the selling and buying of cooked, hot foods.

"The amended regulations issued in terms of section 27(2) seeks to clarify that no cooked food should be sold by either restaurants, retailers, outlets or informal food traders."

"The amendment will allow government to continue strengthening our efforts to flatten the curve and reduce new infections."

"We continue to strengthen the regulations in order to decrease the frequent movement of people, and this has necessitated the need to restrict the sale of hot cooked food during the period of the lockdown," she said.
