Security operation at Westville Prison
Correctional Services officials say there's a security operation under way at Durban's Westville Prison.
Newswatch has received information about some kind of stand-off at the facility.
Correctional Services spokesperson, Logan Maistry says he can't divulge too much information at this stage.
"The Department of Correctional Services is able to confirm that we are currently busy with security operations at the said correctional services facility. From time to time, we conduct security operations at all our facilities.
"Due to the security nature of the operation, we are unable to provide further details at this stage. This is part of our mandate of ensuring safe and secure custody at correctional centres throughout the country."
