Two security officers have been shot and killed during a business robbery in Durban.
It's understood they were involved in a shootout with armed robbers at Londonberry Crescent in Springfield on Wednesday.
Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene.
"Two men, aged between 40 and 50 years old, had sustained gunshot wounds," says spokesperson Kyle Van Reenen.
"One man was found to have sustained fatal wounds and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him. He was declared dead on arrival.
"The second was found in a critical condition and advanced life support paramedics worked fervently to save the man. However, he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died on the scene."
"The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigations accordingly."
