Security guard killed in cash-in-transit robbery near Richards Bay

A guard has been shot and killed during a cash-in-transit heist near Richards Bay.
Police say four suspects entered the store and held employees and shoppers at gunpoint at the Engen One Stop garage on the N2.
Spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says the suspects opened fire on the security guards who were transporting two bags of money at the time.

Mbhele says the suspects opened fire on the security guards who were transporting two bags of money at the time.
"They fled with more than R20 000 in cash. The getaway car was grey in colour and the empty cartridges were recovered," she said.
