Security beefed up as eThekwini launches festive campaign

The eThekwini' Municipality's festive season safety campaign has officially been launched at North Beach.

Authorities say there will be an increase in police visibility along Durban’s Golden Mile, as well as popular hotspots across the city.
More than 300 extra personnel have been deployed to cope with the influx of tourists over the holidays.
Operations to ensure a safe and joyful festive period, for all of eThekwini’s visitors, are being unveiled today by city officials at Durban’s North Beach 🏖 More than 1-MILLION tourists flock to the East Coast for the holidays. Clean-up teams and patrol units will also be used to maintain a safe and clean environment for beachgoers.
Mayor Zandile Gumede inspected the promenade this morning.
