KwaZulu-Natal police are on the hunt for a second suspect linked to the murder of an off-duty police officer in Umzimkhulu.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on Monday in connection with the killing of Sergeant Nokuthula Somani.
KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says Somani was gunned down in her home in April.
She was stationed at the Umzimkulu police station.

"Two suspects entered the house while the Sergeant was sitting in the lounge and they fired several shots at her and she died at the scene and they fled the scene on foot."
Mhlongo says investigations led them to Ibisi where the suspect was arrested.
He is set to appear in court on Wednesday.
