Second accused in Normandien murders abandon bail

The second accused in the murder of a Normandien couple has also abandoned his bail application.

Vikani Ngwenya joined Siyabonga Macu in the dock yesterday.
Macu was the first to be arrested - a few weeks after Glen and Vida Rafferty were killed on their farm at the end of August.
Ngwenya was taken into custody two weeks ago.

The pair is facing two counts of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and conspiracy to commit robbery.
NPA KZN spokesperson is Natasha Kara. " The two accused appeared in the Newcastle Magistrate Court.
The matter was postponed to the 11th of November for attorneys for the accused. They will remain in custody.
