Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
Seventeen-year-old Slindile Zungu and 18-year-old Lungile Masinga were last seen by their families on the morning of Friday 14.
Slindile is a slightly overweight girl with short hair, brown eyes and a scar on her left eye. Lungile is roughly 1.6m tall. She has a slender body and likes to wear her hair in plaits.
Both ladies were last seen wearing grey shirts and maroon pants. They speak IsiZulu and English fluently.
The police's Thulani Zwane says they believe the schoolgirls might be in Umlazi, south of Durban.
"They were last seen when they went to school but they never returned home as from the 14th of this month and their parents reported them at the police station.
"Anyone who might have information about their whereabouts is asked to contact their local police station so that they can be reunited with their families," he said.
Anyone who knows anything about their whereabouts is requested to contact the Investigating Officer, Constable Langa, at the Ladysmith SAPS on (036) 638 3353 during office hours or on 072 042 7227.
