Search for missing KZN plane continues
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
The search for a plane that disappeared while flying over KwaZulu-Natal earlier this week is continuing.
Search and rescue personnel have been looking for the light aircraft since Thursday.
It is understood that it took off from Newcastle, headed for the coast, on Wednesday and never returned. One person, the pilot, was on board.

The Aeronautical Rescue Co-ordination Centre is heading up the massive search effort. The centre's chief, Santjie White confirmed that search efforts would resume today.
"The search for the missing aircraft between Newcastle and the coast is continuing. We are concentrating on the beach areas between Sodwana Bay and Thonga Beach Lodge", White said.
She says there will be a combined air and sea search today.
"We have the use of aerial backup along with police divers. People are requested to be on the lookout for any possible debris that wash up on beaches and please report that to your nearest police station", she said.
