Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
The search for a lion believed to have escaped from the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, in northern KZN, continues.

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife believes the lion managed to escape from the park about two weeks ago.
Rangers and trackers are searching for the big cat in the Nhlungwane area - near Ulundi. Community members said they'd seen it at the weekend. Ezemvelo's Musa Mntambo says rangers have found lion tracks in the area.

"There have been reports of sightings of the lion in areas belonging to Nkosi Biyela. Three cows were eaten by a lion. We've also received reports that one cow was eaten by a lion in the area belonging to Nkosi Mlaba. So far, we have not seen the lion. Our guys on the field say they have seen the lion's prints," he says.
People are being urged to contact their community leaders if they spot the lion.
